Free Water Safety Resources for Parents: 

Red Cross Swimming Resources: Resources to help your child learn about water safety while having fun in and around water, includes free online courses for parents and videos that will teach your kids about water safety. 

Pool Safely: To improve pool and spa safety, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) launched Pool Safely: Simple Steps to Save Lives, a national public education campaign to reduce childhood drownings, submersion injuries and entrapments. The campaign is a call-to-action for consumers and industry to adopt proven water safety steps and join a national conversation about pool and spa safety by sharing best practices and other life-saving information.

Swim Lessons:

YMCA: As "America's swim instructor," the YMCA teaches children of all ages and from all backgrounds that water should be fun, not feared, if you know how to stay safe in and around water. Find lessons near you on their website.

SwimLA: The Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department offers families and community members many affordable and safe aquatic activities at their public pools, lakes and beaches.

Non Profits who Provide Funding to Make Swim Lessons Available to more Communities: 

USA Swimming Foundation: Established in 2004, the USA Swimming Foundation works to strengthen our sport by Saving Lives, Building Champions, and Impacting Communities. Whether providing grant funding to members of our lesson provider network, supporting the dreams of National Team members, or growing the sport in traditionally underserved populations, the Foundation is proud to serve as the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming. Swimming is the only sport that can save a life, and our work is critical towards making the sport an equitable space.

Michael Phelps Foundation: Utilizing the same program Michael used to become successful in his career, our signature IM Program was developed in partnership with Nemours KidsHealth.org and Michael Phelps Swimming. The IM Program is a multifaceted curriculum that includes a learn-to-swim program, recreational aquatic activities, organized swim training, physical and mental health lessons, and goal-setting. 

Hope Floats: Hope Floats partners with high-quality swim schools to provide scholarships for swimming lessons for children living in poverty. Hope Floats raises money by partnering with individuals, businesses, and foundations that want to be a force for good in their communities.  Scholarships and tuition assistance is provided to children who might not otherwise be able to afford swim lessons.   

The Zac Foundation: TZF is dedicated to improving water safety by funding advocacy, education and effective programming to safeguard children and their families. The Foundation has provided water safety programming through its award-winning ZAC Camps to more than 20,000 children ages 5-9 in at-risk communities nationwide.
